Simple Natural Anti-Inflammatory
I've been doing CrossFit for about 3 years, 4 days a week. Last week we had to run a 10K. After that run I felt like I had been hit by a truck. Back hurt, knees hurt, whole body was a wreck. My friend told me she too, was in pain and she recommended "Golden Milk". I looked into it, emailed my Ayurvedic doc and this is my own version that I love. I drink it at night and the next day I feel 100%. After researching more about turmeric, I've learned that it is incredibly good for you. Not only is it an anti-inflammatory it's also is great for your immune system and for your brain. Some research shows that it helps with depression too.
1 cup milk of your choice (I use raw cow's milk)
1/2 cup warm water
1 teaspoon - 2 tablespoons turmeric
1 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee
dash of black pepper
raw honey to taste
1 teaspoon ginger
dash of cinnamon
dash of cardamom
In a small sauce pan warm milk, coconut oil or ghee, honey to taste and pepper.
In a separate bowl combine turmeric and water to make a paste.
Add turmeric paste to warm milk.
Add ginger, cinnamon and cardamom to your liking.
Gently simmer on the stove to reduce to 1 cup.
Whip with Aerolatte Milk Frother before drinking.
